I hate to be the sort of person that brings bad news, but I wanted to warn everyone about Santander. I wanted to start a bank account with them in the UK for doing e-commerce business. So I rang up and arranged an interview with one of their managers in a Midlands (UK) branch. However, I sat waiting for two hours. The appointment was at twelve, so I could understand it being a little delayed, what with them going for lunch at this time. That said, half past twelve came and went. One o clock came and went. Two o clock came and went. I then left at 2.15 pm. After reading about the warning away by Georges in the HSBC forum, I thought I would post this. Is there any high street bank that’s reasonable?
And for Santander customers, is it like this all over or do i just have a terrible branch?07/04/2015 at 9:26 am #4195
You could try First Direct as they don’t have any physical branches and as a consequence, seem to have a much better customer service, albeit over the telephone, or online.23/04/2015 at 9:19 am #4393
Hey. Thanks for your help. I’m interested in First Direct, but call me old fashioned – the lack of a branch seems a bit of a negative at this point. Still, at least I’ll get to hear from someone. I’ll post about what people’s thoughts are in the relevant thread on First Direct.
